Beaujolais is so much more than just "Beaujolais Nouveau". Even if the latter is the most famous ambassador of the region of Beaujolais, this is no reason to forget the other appellations.
The very reason why Beaujolais ends in an S is because there are 12 appellations !

Beaujolais: This is the most widespread appellation. A portion of Beaujolais is released in November under the name Beaujolais Nouveau.

Beaujolais Villages:
Spread over 39 communes, this appellation represents 25% of the total production of Beaujolais.

Cru Beaujolais:
The 10 Crus of Beaujolais are the real treasures of the region's production.
